The 2017 Catalyze Klamath Falls Challenge will ignite again on May 18, 2017 from 4 – 7pm at the Oregon Tech College Union, Mazama/Scott Conference Rooms, Klamath Falls Campus.

Catalyze Challenge 2017 will be similar in format to past years, with teams competing for prizes in front of a panel of distinguished judges. The teams have developed solutions to real-world challenges that all have the potential to become businesses in Klamath Falls. The winning teams will receive over $15,000 in cash and in-kind business supports, to enhance their ability to start and grow successful companies in the region. The 2017 Challenge will also feature a Clean Tech Award, sponsored by Oregon BEST, and a Student Choice Award, by a vote of students that attend the competition.

The 2017 sponsors are Klamath County, KCEDA, City of Klamath Falls, Avista, Business Oregon, Wendt Family Foundation, Oregon BEST and Black Canyon Woodworks.

Oregon Tech’s Catalyze Klamath Falls Challenge has been a huge success for student competitors and the Klamath community.  Over the past two years, 10 student/alumni teams have competed for over $20,000 in prize money that was generously donated by community sponsors.

The Oregon Tech community is rich in talent and the Klamath community is rich in its desire and support to grow and sustain new invention-based companies in the region.

The event is open to the community, Oregon Tech’s school partners, and students, faculty and staff.  Light refreshments will be served.
