Showcase Highlights:

The Student Project Symposium is a venue for students to display their projects and discuss them with visitors. This is an annual event during which students from all departments are invited to present their junior, senior or capstone projects. From past years; Embedded Computing Systems (Fear Tracker, Laser Musical Instrument, LED Paint Canvas), Society of Automotive Engineer formula-style race car, Underwater Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV), Solar Learning Module and many more.

You are cordially invited to attend the first Student Expo featuring Oregon Tech’s Business Senior Projects. Come see first-hand what our innovative students have been working on to help regional businesses gain customers, utilize their assets, and assist them in analyzing and installing systems to save both time and money. Senior projects are designed to challenge students with real world management problems, as well as give them the opportunity to gain industry experience prior to graduation.

At this expo you will have a chance to hear students explain their projects, summarize what they have learned and how the business is doing since project completion. You could very well find your newest best employee right here or be inspired to take on an Oregon Tech business senior next year to do something great for your company.


Robotics & Automation LabAUVSI Club: Oregon Tech Unmanned Systems

Showcase Highlights:

You are cordially invited to attend the first Showcase tour of 2016. We will be visiting the Robotics & Automation Lab (Cornett 117) where the OTUS (Oregon Tech Unmanned Systems) Team is designing and testing their submersible vehicle project. The OTUS Team consists of students from multiple degree programs, and senior project teams hosted by the AUVSI Club (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International). They hope to compete at 2016 international Robosub competition that will be held Mid-July in San Diego sponsored by ONR (Office of Naval Research) and the AUVSI Foundation.

The Robotics and Automation Lab is a student-centered research and learning place with multiple workstations, in which a variety of unmanned aerial vehicles with a mission operating station, mobile manipulators, LEGO robots, etc.

Join us for an informative tour of the Shaw Historical Library located at Oregon Tech. We will also be touring three of the outstanding student services offered. This tour will be led by staff from the Oregon Tech Library, Career, Testing and Peer Consulting services. See the hidden historical treasures awaiting you as we dive into Klamath County archives. Also, learn how students gain valuable skills and experience to help them succeed in academics as well as their careers.

Hear firsthand from students members of the Society of Automotive Engineers about how they design, build and race a Baja rally style car and a Formula style car each year. Learn how these hands-on projects and labs facilitate students in gaining valuable experience that gives them an advantage when they begin their career.

Faculty: The tour of the related labs will be led by faculty from the Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program.

Learn how the composites lab allows students to gain valuable hands-on experience they will use in their careers in a variety of fields including aerospace. Hear firsthand from students about their Unmanned Arial Vehicle project.
