Miranda Frey

Student, Class of 2018
Major(s): Echocardiography

Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

I chose to attend to Oregon Tech because I was interested in ultrasound. Oregon Tech was the only school in Oregon offering a bachelor’s degree in ultrasound and I had heard it was competitive and prestigious. So, I decided to give it a chance and am grateful I did! Now, I am in the echo program and study ultrasound, specifically of the heart.

What do you like most about your major?

I love being able to watch the heart move live on the ultrasound monitor. It's so intriguing! Also, my professors are awesome. They are constantly pushing me to succeed and encouraging me every step of the way.

What would be your dream job in your major?

To be an echocardiography technologist. Someday, I want to be a traveling technician; to be able to perform heart scans in other countries.

What’s your favorite thing to do off campus?

On the late nights of studying, I loved taking a quick trip down to the Night Owl with friends for a midnight snack! We made some great memories, rewarding ourselves with a gummy worm for every five pages we memorized for our tests.

What’s your most memorable moment within your school career?

Hiking up to the "O" with friends on a summer night to watch the sunset. It was like a movie, and the lake looked magnificent.
