Why did you choose Oregon Tech?
Coming from a small high school I already knew the value in being part of something close to its own populace. Oregon Tech is close to the community that it creates; it’s small. Small enough that my classmates are also my friends, and when I talk to my professors they know my name.
What do you like most about your major?
My major, Biology Health-Sciences, allows me to have opportunities like extracurricular research. These opportunities let me develop my mind in an interesting way that is outside of the structure of required classes.
What would be your dream job in your major?
These four years here at Oregon Tech are not my last. I am dreaming and aspiring to medical school, and a position as a Doctor of Osteopathy.
What's your favorite thing to do off campus?
Volunteer. Here in Klamath Falls there is not as much off campus. Not until you get involved with the community and get to know Klamath Falls for the potential of rich experiences that it is. I believe that volunteering is the best way to do this.
What's your most memorable moment within your school career?
My most memorable moment of my school career is less of a moment and more of a continuation of moments. Since winter term of my sophomore year, I got involved in an independent research course. Every week I’ve been challenged with failed experiments that have led to discovery. The feeling I get from being one of the first to learn something new, no matter how big or small, is a really rewarding feeling.
Do you have employment/graduate plans for after graduation?
Post-graduation I will be applying for medical school. My ideal choice is the D.O. school in Lebanon, OR. I am looking forward to the schooling; learning about medicine on a more profound level.
