Biography
Wakaya (He/him or they/them) is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and has experience in cultural retention programs, community organizing, and diversity education. They received their BA in Native American Studies from Dartmouth College and their MFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts. Wakaya enjoys having conversations on culture and identity, building community partnerships, and empowering students to live unapologetically.
