Business Affairs and Business Services

The Business Affairs and Auxiliary Business Services department is responsible for ensuring that the institution applies sound and best business practices while adhering to all regulations, policies, procedures for the University. They provide support for many of the university administrative functions including Accounting and Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable & Receivable, Grants and Contracts, Payroll, Purchasing, Vendor Relations and Travel Reimbursement.

Budget and Resource Planning assists the VP of Finance & Administration in assuring the financial integrity of the institution. They provide oversight for the entire annual and biennial budget building process as well as support to the campus regarding budget development, allocation of resources and general monitoring of the institution's budgets and resources on an ongoing basis.

Emergency Management / Environmental Health and Safety

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and Emergency Management (EM) Department serves the Oregon Tech community by assisting with environmental and safety matters, ensuring compliance with safety laws and regulations, and by managing emergency procedures to mitigate, respond to, and recover from large-scale events that impact the campus. To provide these services the EH&S and EM Department works with campus faculty, staff, students, and visitors in the following areas:

     • First Aid and CPR training for faculty, staff, and student employees
     • Safety training and assistance for students working on projects
     • Training for faculty, staff, and student employees to improve on-the-job safety
     • Root-cause analysis safety investigations for accidents and incidents
     • Safety inspections of facilities and projects on campus
     • Forum for sharing safety concerns and advocacy for safety initiatives on campus
     • Hazardous waste processing and removal from campus
     • Compliance with safety and environmental laws, regulations, procedures, and standards
     • Risk analysis for possible natural hazard, technical, and man-made threats on campus
     • Emergency Operations plans to improve the safety and well-being of the campus community, inform campus personnel on procedures and expectations, and to minimize the impact of an
       unexpected event on the campus community
     • Emergency operations training and exercises to prepare the campus community for unexpected events
     • Continuity planning to ensure Oregon Tech provides essential services and continues in its education mission following an unexpected event
     • Coordination with local, state, regional, and federal agencies in environmental, safety, and emergency management areas
