Center for Excellence in Engineering & Technology (CEET)

The proposed new building will be home to the expanded interdisciplinary College of Engineering and Technology, including the departments of: Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MMET), Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering & Renewable Energy (EERE), Computer Systems Engineering Technology (CSET), Geomatics, Management, and Oregon Renewable Energy Center (OREC).

The project includes 80,000 GSF of new classroom and lab spaces organized around a sub-dividable “Maker Space”. The first level will be large labs with integrated offices and lab support spaces. This will be tall, high bay floor (18’ F/F) to allow the lab processes to have adequate services and height. The second level will have smaller “clean” labs and classrooms, along with departmental and graduate offices.

Excavation has started on the new Center for Excellence in Engineering and Technology (CEET) building and the extra soil has been placed near the Soccer Field and Boivin Hall to fill berms that will be seeded with grass for seating around the stadium. This saved money on the project and will improve the user experience (the transformers are scheduled to be replaced next summer). The CEET is in permitting with the City of Klamath Falls and construction is anticipated to begin in November.

Light It Up Stilwell Stadium

Recently, Oregon Tech celebrated the unveiling of the new John and Lois Stilwell Softball Stadium. This million-dollar project was possible thanks to the vision and lead gift from the Stilwells, financial support from the university, as well as generous contributions from friends and family. Thanks to this spirit of giving, Oregon Tech Owls Softball now boasts one of the finest facilities in the country. The Stilwell Stadium features a new turf field and bullpens, wrap-around bleachers with a press box, improved walkways, and a new building for concessions, restrooms, and a (heated!) team room. The field enables the Lady Owls to play in all seasons — and if you know Klamath Falls — you know how important that is. Now, all we need are new lights!

The "Light it Up" Stilwell Stadium is a fundraising campaign that will provide the $250,000 to install new LED lights this winter and complete the final details of the stadium. A lighted stadium will directly benefit our program and give the Owls a chance to host NAIA regional playoff games (reducing travel expenses) this spring and in future years. Additional benefits include improved opportunities for summer youth camps, boosting the local economy (with teams traveling to Klamath Falls), and ultimately improving community engagement with a top-notch facility. We are pleased to share that $90,000 has already been secured, leaving $160,000 remaining to accomplish this important project.
