There's a global fundraiser in two weeks, but what exactly is Giving Tuesday and what does it mean for Oregon Tech? 💸💙 #GivingTuesday is a global event that asks people to make dramatic differences for organizations they care about by donating to important causes. Giving Tuesday occurs this November 29, following the consumer-driven holidays of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It encourages communities to do good and emphasizes charitable giving. At Oregon Tech, this can be student scholarships, clubs, programs, equipment, and so on. Last year $120,000 was raised in ONE DAY! ♻️ One alumnus pledged $5,000 in matching funds for sustainability efforts, including Renewable Energy Engineering Scholarships, Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Departments, OREC, and the Sustainability Committee. 🦷 Dental Hygiene faculty, staff, and students also fundraised to subsidize the cost of providing dental care for underserved populations and those unable to afford necessary dental care; such as Veterans, the homeless, and senior citizens. Follow along this year as we share the different ways you can be part of making a difference at Oregon Tech. 🦉 www.oit.edu/give
