Conor Roark, Baelie Werner, and Serena Moha are @oit_civil_engineering students who have received impressive accolades this December and are destined to become front runners in the transportation industry. Conor Roark and Baelie Werner were awarded Douglas P. Daniels/Coral Sales Scholarships, which help support transportation engineering students at universities in the Pacific Northwest. Serena Moha and Conor Roark were awarded Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon (APAO) Scholarships, which are given to students who demonstrate an interest in asphalt paving technology or a closely related field. Conor Roark was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. After spending time as a Peace Corps Volunteer, Conor was inspired to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering, which brought him to Oregon Tech. Conor will graduate this spring as he looks to enter the professional sector. Baelie Werner is originally for Tillamook, Oregon. Wanting to stay in the Pacific Northwest, Baelie came to Oregon Tech to pursue both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering. After graduating in the spring, Baelie will begin her career in the field of bridge engineering with DOWL. Serena Moha, a Civil Engineering junior from Warrenton, Oregon, plans on completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering in June of 2025. She is the current co-captain of the Oregon Tech Student Steel Bridge Team. Over the summer, Serena worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation in Astoria, Oregon, as a construction inspection intern. Congratulations Conor, Baelie, and Serena!
