Veth is currently in her second year of an Ed.D program in Higher Education Leadership and Management at Capella University and holds a Master of Art Degree in English from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Bachelor of Art Degree in English from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
“Erika is a strong member of the Oregon Tech community and I’m happy that she has accepted this appointment,” says Provost Brad Burda. “Her previous experience working within the online program is crucial towards this role.”
Veth has worked within the online program since 2011 and has helped manage online/blended faculty, worked closely with the student services and scheduling side, has experience with Blackboard, and assisted the previous Director with various responsibilities and duties. Additionally, she serves as chair of Distance Education Advisory Council, voting administrator of Faculty Senate, co-chair of the Learning Management System Search Team, and participates in multiple facets of university service.
“I plan to work with faculty and academic leadership to develop and execute a strategy for creating an ‘online campus’,” she says. “I believe we can begin by revising our recruitment and retention strategies and developing policies to allow for expansion of our program offerings.”
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Veth.
