Katie Harman Ebner supports the Office of the President and University Advancement through messaging, speechwriting, and strategic initiatives that reflect the university’s mission to deliver hands-on, innovative education.
Katie brings over 20 years of experience in communication strategy, public engagement, and the performing arts. Crowned Miss America 2002, she earned national recognition for her advocacy and service during and immediately following 9/11. She has since built a diverse career across stage and screen, including appearances with Boston Pops, LA Philharmonic at Hollywood Bowl, National Opera Association, Prague Summer Nights Festival, Pink Martini, 54 Below, HBO, A&E, and many more.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from Portland State University and a Master of Music in Performance from Southern Oregon University. Katie is also the founder of Virtuosa Society, a nonprofit nurturing creative women through connection, edification, and financial support.
An active volunteer, she currently serves on the Oregon Community Foundation’s Southern Oregon Leadership Council, the Sky Lakes Cancer Advisory Committee, and the Board of Directors for Stumptown Stages.
Originally from Portland, Katie has resided in Klamath Falls with her husband and two children since 2005. She enjoys hiking, historical biographies, and antique shopping.
