Oregon Tech was well-represented at ORMATYC 2026, an annual conference focused on mathematics education. Our group included six presenters, showcasing innovative and cross-disciplinary projects in research and practice. Oregon Tech presentations included: Exploring Mathematical Filters of Speckle in Ultrasound Images: Delany Sazama (MIT student), Tiernan Fogarty (Applied Math), Dr. Robyn Wilde (Physics) Statistics for Network Data: Statistical Thinking with a Low Math Prerequisite: Dr. Joe Reid (Applied Math, DSAI) Math 105z, Math in Society: The Perfect Class to Mentor Students in Math and How to Succeed as a Student: Dr. Ken Davis (Applied Math), Dr. Heather Saigo (Online Learning) Several members of the Oregon Tech Applied Math department also participated as leaders and attendees.
