Community members, students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the 2014 Student Project Symposium at the Wilsonville Campus on Wednesday, June 4 at 5 p.m. The project symposium is an open-floor venue intended to bring curriculum-based student projects out of the lab and into the eyes of the Wilsonville community. Students will have projects on display from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The capstone project is a culminating experience in each student’s program of study. It represents one’s ability to formulate a project and implement it from start to finish using a combination of conceptual, technical, and applied knowledge. This is a significant learning experience stressing teamwork, organization, and communication - important elements in a career.

- Electrical Engineering- Blood Pressure Monitor, Marine Aquarium and Controller, MIDI Step Sequencer, OBDII Vehicle Diagnostic Service
- Electronics Engineering Technology- Control System for Radiant Ceiling Panels, Outlet Manager, 3D Printer Control Board, Ventilation Control System
- Renewable Energy Engineering- Sodium SuperOxide Cell, Solar Blackout, Integrated Energy Systems Design for an Off-Grid Community, Solar Fast Charge Station Design with Lead Acid Fast Charge, Characterization of Lithium peroxide formation in lithium air electrode via titration techniques and EIS
- Mechanical Engineering Technology- The Flex Fuel Roadster, Kymera: A Flax Fiber Composite Mountain Bike Frame
- Clinical Lab Sciences- Hematology in Diagnostic Laboratory Science, Forensic Analysis and Clinical Laboratory Science, DNA Analysis in Clinical Laboratory Science
- Emergency Medical Services- Cortisol Study, Closed-Loop Communication Scoring Tool, Adequacy of Training for Critical Care Procedures in Paramedicine
The symposium offers students, community members, alumni, and professionals the opportunity to view what projects students are working on and speak with students regarding their areas of interest. Visitors are encouraged to browse the displays and meet with the presenters during the symposium.
