For in-state students, and even some out-of-state students, public universities are usually far less expensive than private institutions. The difference in price doesn't mean that value is lost. On the contrary, some of the most prestigious schools in the United States, from the West Coast to the East Coast, are public universities, and many are conducting cutting-edge research that will fuel the technologies of tomorrow. With help from Olympic Gold Medalists Dan O'Brien and Ashton Eaton, the Oregon Tech Foundation is raising money to renovate the track and field. 🏅 The present stadium and track have been in existence for more than 40 years, but with years of deterioration, a track meet has not been held at Oregon Tech since 2013. While the facility is an important community asset, gifts to the campaign will also help grow the championship Track & Field program. Give now at www.oit.edu/gold

What happens if the recently landed Mars Rover, Perseverance, encounters mud or water? It would need to abandon its route. But Oregon Tech students are working on a new concept and design that would allow an amphibious submarine (Rover Sub) the ability to move around muddy areas with wheels and explore underwater with thrusters similar to a submarine. Teams are also working on RoboSub V2, an unmanned, untethered submarine system they'll take to an international competition this summer.
