I grew up in Newport, Oregon, shaped by the stunning Pacific Northwest. My passion for marine biology led to a bachelor's degree. Beyond academics, quilting is my creative outlet, teaching patience and precision. Family, especially my sisters, is central to my life, instilling values like loyalty and kindness. My diverse interests include exploring the region's forests and volunteering at the local fire department. My roots, marine biology, quilting, family, and service to the community define me, and I aspire to make a positive impact in all situations.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
I chose the Medical Laboratory Sciences program at Oregon Tech because I knew I wanted to work in a hospital setting. While pursuing a biology degree at Oregon State University, I discovered my passion for microbiology. Oregon Tech offers the best Medical Laboratory program in the Pacific Northwest, making it the perfect choice to nurture my career aspirations.
My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
Combining my marine sciences background with EMT volunteer work, I bring a diverse skill set to the Medical Laboratory Sciences program at Oregon Tech. My adaptability, honed through EMT work, allows me to handle diverse challenges effectively. I possess strong teamwork and communication skills, crucial for collaborative work in the medical field. These attributes uniquely position me to excel and contribute meaningfully to the program.
My Plans After Graduation
After graduating with my Medical Laboratory Sciences degree, I plan to fulfill my dream of working in a hospital setting. I'm particularly excited to pursue my passion for microbiology by working with inoculating mediums and bacteria, contributing to patient care and diagnostics in the healthcare field.
