A Little Bit About Me

From a very young age I have interacted with and enjoyed learning about computer science. I also loved learning about many subjects, especially computer science, physics, astronomy, and archeology. My past times included engaging in science experiments, writing programs in the languages of the time, and reading exhaustively about my areas of interest. To this day, I am an avid reader and technophile. Even through challenging times in my life, I kept up with my areas of interest to keep up to date with the growing bases of knowledge. After many years of challenges, I was finally able to return to college to focus on building useful skills and I immediately jumped in with my primary interest in computer technology.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Software Engineering as my major because of my comfort with computers as well as past experiences programming in past languages. I have always enjoyed working on computers as well as writing programs. In pursuit of this major as well as a career in programming, I found that Oregon Tech offered the most comprehensive Software Engineering program for achieving my goals.

My Influential Professors

I have two very influential professors at Oregon Tech. Philip Howard is extremely intelligent and inspirational. During his classes, he has shared stories from his extensive experience with Software Engineering and even had us learn to use a language he had written himself. This has all helped inspire me to put all my effort into my degree to enter a career in Software Engineering myself. The other professor who has been influential in my education is Todd Breedlove. He is closely involved in my degree program and is also the one who inspired me to attend Oregon Tech. He is always available to help with any problems I encounter.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

My greatest learning experience at Oregon Tech has been learning both Data Structures and the C programming languages. It has helped me update my previous programming skills and understand the structure of current programming. I enjoyed both experiences very much and they helped me build a very solid base of knowledge and skills for my further education.

My Plans After Graduation

My plans after graduating are very fluid, but with a primary focus on a career in writing and developing programs. The first step towards this goal will be to secure employment with a company that will allow me to put the knowledge and skills I learned at Oregon Tech to use, as well as help me develop and sharpen my skills. I will continue on this track until I am in a secure position writing and developing programs. I intend to put my degree and skills to their maximum use.
