Strategic Enrollment Management & Retention

The Associate Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management & Retention oversees the administration of the SEMR division. SEMR encompasses comprehensive planning and resource alignment processes aimed at increasing student success by identifying barriers and improving operations, promoting university-wide dialogue and collaboration and enhancing growth and revenue, while serving stakeholders and fulfilling the mission, vision, core values, and goals of the university.

The SEMR division includes the offices of Academic Advising & Retention, Admissions, Educational Partnerships and Outreach, and Financial Aid. Collectively, these four departments align the services and support that cover the entire enrollment spectrum at Oregon Tech.

SEMR Goals

SEMR has outlined the following goals in the Academic Master Plan:

1. Enrollment

• Increase on-campus and online engagement with more prospective students each year for the next five years
• Review and develop opportunities for international student pipelines
• Strengthen STEM education K-12 initiatives
• Serve the academic needs and ensure the success of all students

2. Student Support

• Develop an innovative first-year experience for all students aligned with our polytechnic mission
• Improve and promote relationship and community through mentorship and events

3. Retention

• Increase high-impact practices for retention
• Increase the four-year degree completion rate
• Review and implementation of best practices at various levels
