What are Oregon Tech's Admission Standards?

Admission to Oregon Tech is based on your unweighted college-preparatory GPA. When you apply, we’ll recalculate your college-prep GPA based on the 14 core courses outlined below. SAT and ACT scores are optional—you can choose to submit to enhance your application, but they are by no means required. SAT and ACT scores that are submitted will never penalize an applicant, but in some instances may improve chances of admission or presidential scholarship consideration.

What GPA should I have for Admission to Oregon Tech?

  • You will be offered admission if you have a 3.0 or higher GPA based on a 4.0 scale and calculated using only the core courses with no deficiencies*
  • You will be considered for admission if you have a 2.5 or higher GPA based on a 4.0 scale and calculated using only the core courses with no math and science deficiencies, and no more than 2 deficiencies in other subjects.

* Deficiencies are subjects not taken or courses where less than a C is earned. Repeat courses may be used to replace grades.

Do I need to submit test scores?

Standardized test scores such as ACT, SAT, SAT II,  AP, or IB are not required. However, scores may be used to make up course deficiencies in the core subject requirements.

Test scores in no way will penalize your admission review, but you're encouraged to submit them if you have them. If submitted, they will only be used to enhance your admission review and Presidential Scholarship consideration.
