Students from the Intercultural Communication class (COM 205) visited Kingsley Field 173rd Fighter Wing to learn more about military culture, specifically the Jet Fighter traditions and rituals. Led by their instructor, AJ Davila a former combat Marine of the Iraq War, students were able to tour areas on base, receive class led instructions by Captain "Fantom" McCoy on operational status and instructions of the basic mission for the F15 "Eagle," and the students even got to see the "Eagle" up close and personal.

Kennedy Jantzi, is a Business Management major and a softball athlete at Oregon Tech. For her senior project, she is combining her knowledge of business with her passion for softball in the development of a business plan for a club softball organization she intends to launch after graduation. The business plan includes the start-up, facilities, and training requirements, as well as a competitive analysis, and marketing, recruitment and retention strategies. She is being mentored by Jami Strinz, founder of PNZ Shamrock Softball in Oregon.
