Business Program Information

The Business program is designed to develop business professionals by combining a strong business core with hands-on projects.

The Business Management program is designed to develop well-rounded, adaptable professionals by combining a strong academic foundation with hands-on, applied learning experiences. Students build technology-infused business skills and competencies that prepare them to succeed in today’s ever-changing, fast-paced, data-driven, and globally connected marketplace, while also strengthening their analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills. Emphasizing real-world application, the program integrates experiential learning opportunities that enable students to apply classroom knowledge to practical business challenges and environments.

Business Management degree
A defining feature of the program is its flexibility, which allows students to tailor their academic experience to their individual career goals and interests. The Business Management degree offers a range of customizable and adaptable tracks designed to help students develop a personalized portfolio of business tools and competencies. Students may choose to pursue focus areas such as Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, Management & Leadership, Global Business, or work closely with their advisor to design a custom track that reflects their unique aspirations.
 
This individualized approach, combined with a comprehensive and integrative capstone experience, ensures that students graduate with both depth and breadth of knowledge. By aligning their coursework with professional goals and engaging in a culminating applied project, students are well-positioned to transition confidently into the workforce or pursue advanced opportunities or graduate programs across an array of industries.

Business Tracks

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Track

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Track prepares students to develop and launch new ventures by combining innovation strategy, AI prototyping, and user-centered design. Students build skills in identifying opportunities, validating ideas, and bringing products to market, while marketing and communication courses enhance their ability to promote and present innovative solutions effectively. Students often go on to compete in Oregon Tech's Catalyze Klamath Inventor Contest and join the Business & Innovation Club.  

Business Analytics Track

The Business Analytics Track develops students’ ability to analyze data and improve organizational performance through evidence-based decision-making. Coursework emphasizes database management, systems analysis, and advanced analytical methods such as modeling, optimization, and simulation. Students also gain experience with process improvement frameworks like Lean and Six Sigma, preparing them to identify inefficiencies, generate insights, and implement data-driven solutions across business functions. Students have the opportunity to earn a Six Sigma Green Belt.  

Management & Leadership Track

The Management & Leadership Track prepares students to lead individuals and teams effectively in complex organizational settings. Through coursework in human resources, advanced leadership, and contemporary management issues, students develop skills in decision-making, ethical leadership, and organizational strategy. Communication-focused courses in public relations and negotiation further strengthen students’ ability to manage conflict, influence stakeholders, and foster collaborative, high-performing work environments.

Global Business Track

The Global Business Track prepares students to operate effectively in diverse international environments by developing cultural awareness and global business insight. Through coursework in cultural anthropology, intercultural communication, and global marketing, students learn to understand cross-cultural dynamics and adapt strategies for international markets. The study abroad experience further enhances their ability to apply global business concepts in real-world settings, preparing graduates to navigate and lead in an increasingly interconnected economy.
