Frequently Asked Questions

Give A Hoot Day lasts for 36 hours, beginning at midnight on Wednesday, April 22 and continuing through Thursday, April 23 at noon. During this time, you can make a gift, double your impact through matching funds, and participate in challenges.

Matches and challenges are special opportunities that help your gift go further.

  • Matches mean that a donor has pledged to match gifts dollar-for-dollar up to a certain amount, so your donation can have double the impact. Matches are available on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last, so giving early makes a big difference.
  • Challenges are unlocked when a goal is reached, such as a certain number of donors or dollars raised, which releases additional funds for that group.

We would love to have your support as a Give A Hoot Day match or challenge donor! To set up a match or challenge, please contact:

You can give to the areas you care about most, including student clubs, athletic teams, scholarships, academic programs, campus organizations, and other Oregon Tech funds.

Yes. Gifts made to the Oregon Tech Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt for your records after making your donation.

We will be counting gifts a week in advance of Give A Hoot Day as well as during the official 36-hour event. You can make your gift early, but gifts made during the official 36-hour event are eligible for matches and challenges, so giving during the event has the greatest impact.

The minimum gift amount is $5 to cover transaction costs on our online donation platform.

Every gift directly supports the fund you choose, helping provide scholarships, equipment, travel opportunities, program support, and hands-on experiences for Oregon Tech students.
