A Little Bit About Me

I am 21 years old and come from a large family with a younger sister, two younger brothers, and our parents. My major at OIT is GIS. I have moved around all my life due to my dad being in the Coast Guard so I have attended schools in many different cities like Kodiak, Alaska for Preschool through the 2nd grade, Anchorage, Alaska for 3rd grade through the 7th grade, Astoria, Oregon for 8th grade through high school, Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon, and then finally transferring from BMCC to OIT in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I graduated from Astoria Senior High School with Honors in 2022 and I received my Associates of Applied Science in Precision Ag with Honors in 2024. I love to hang out with my family, pets, and friends, read, watch movies/tv shows/videos, and play games.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

The reason I chose Oregon Tech is because OIT is one of a few schools in the PNW and especially in Oregon where you can get a Bachelor's in GIS. Before I transferred to OIT I was at Blue Mountain Community College where I received my Associates of Applied Science in Precision Agriculture. I had a few GIS courses and my advisor/main teacher said I really picked it up easily so I should pursue it further.

My Influential Professors

One of my influential professors are SuJin Lee because with him teaching almost all of the GIS courses the college has to offer making him have a lasting impact on my college career and the skills that I develop within the field of GIS. Another influential professor for me would be Tiernan Fogarty who I am currently taking a class with. He makes it so that everyone has an easy time learning complex math topics and takes the time to get to know his students even if this is the first time he's had them in class he makes sure his students know they could go to him for anything at all if they need help with something.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

My greatest learning experience at Oregon Tech has been the opportunity to attend conferences that are within my degree field to learn about new techniques being used and developed within the field of GIS and also being able to meet and make connections with other people in the industry that could help me later on in life after I graduate.

My Plans After Graduation

I plan to either get a job in the field of GIS dealing with the field of agriculture or get a job dealing with precision agriculture while also using the skills that I have learned from receiving my Bachelor's in GIS. I plan to move near my family and potentially get a cat or a dog in the future while getting a job near where I plan to move to after college.
