Kim Faks, Assistant Director of Student Involvement and Belonging, joined the Board of Trustees of Oregon Tech on October 1. The staff position was previously held by Michele Vitali, who provided leadership from 2021 to 2025.
Kim joined Oregon Tech in 2019, originally as Program Assistant in Student Services at the Portland-Metro campus. Kim continues to be based at the Portland-Metro campus, and now as Assistant Director, she leads all Student Involvement and Belonging programs and initiatives on the Portland-Metro campus, collaborating with partners across the university to ensure a student-centered approach to creating and implementing programming that enhances students' sense of belonging and increases their leadership development and cultural competency.
Before joining Oregon Tech, Kim spent 10 years in public and private Pre-K through 12th-grade school administration, working closely with students and families from diverse cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. Kim spent the previous 10 years as Advertising and Marketing Manager at a hi-tech furniture manufacturer with customers in the corporate, healthcare, and multimedia sectors.
