Dr. Vijay Dhir is a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he has been on the faculty since 1974. He served as Dean of the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science from 2003 to 2016.
A pioneering researcher in boiling heat transfer and nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics, Dhir was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2006 and is an honorary member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky.
