The College of Health, Arts and Sciences at Oregon Tech provides accredited degree programs in health technologies and applied sciences that enable graduates to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for immediate employment.

The variety of arts and sciences courses provide mathematical and scientific background for the technologies, help develop abilities in critical thinking, problem solving, and professional and technical communication, and provide the ethical and cultural awareness required to meet the changing needs of individuals and societies.

Allied Health ›

The Master of Science in Allied Health degree will allow students to advance in their professional careers by providing them with advanced skills to conduct research, teach, implement and evaluate programs, or move into management, leadership or administrative positions. Students will graduate with exceptional leadership skills they can utilize in their jobs.

Applied Behavior Analysis

Oregon Tech offers undergraduate and graduate coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). These courses are designed to provide the rigorous training in ABA that will prepare professionals working in the field of autism to be ready to meet the need for well-qualified, credentialed providers at the state and national level.

Biology ›

The Biology degree prepares students for careers in biology or life science professions, as well as admission to professional programs in biomedical and health sciences, or graduate programs in life sciences and education. The Biology program provides students fundamental preparation in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics.

Health Sciences is akin to a pre-med major at other universities. It provides intensive study and a strong foundation in the medical sciences, chemistry, physics, the social sciences, communications and mathematics.

Communication Studies ›

All professions seek people with solid communication skills. Oregon Tech’s Communication Studies program allows students flexibility in designing a program that fits their life and career goals. Students choose core courses and electives from areas such as technical, organizational, and interpersonal communication.

Data Science ›

Data scientists use skills from the fields of computer science, applied math and statistics to extract insights from data, helping companies and organizations to make well-informed decisions. In addition to technical skills, data scientists must be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively. Oregon Tech's Data Science degree program is a collaboration between multiple departments and programs.

Dental Hygiene ›

Oregon Tech's Dental Hygiene program provides a unique holistic approach that combines highly effective professional training with hands-on outreach opportunities. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is eligible to apply for examination and state licensure.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography ›

Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) uses special equipment to direct high frequency sound waves into areas of the patient’s body, which is later interpreted by a physician. Instructors teach DMS students to use high-frequency sound-wave imaging and Doppler instrumentation.

Echocardiography ›

The degree in Echocardiography, also referred to as cardiac ultrasound, prepares graduates to perform the safe, non-invasive method of obtaining ultrasound images for diagnosis of cardiac pathology in adult and pediatric patient populations.

Emergency Medical Services Management

The BS degree in EMS Management is a joint Oregon Tech / OHSU program that provides graduates with practical training in three core areas; general business management training, specific EMS industry management training, and finally advanced clinical training in critical care transport. This program is an excellent opportunity for practicing paramedics that desire to leverage their field knowledge and experience into a management position within their organization or would simply like to advance their 2-year degree into a bachelor's degree.

EMT/Paramedic Program ›

The EMT program offers coursework designed to educate future leaders in the field of out-of-hospital medical care. After graduation, students are eligible for state and national certification exams. This is a joint program between Oregon Tech and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), located at the Portland-Metro campus in Wilsonville.

Environmental Sciences ›

In Environmental Sciences, students combine their interest in science and math with a knack for problem solving to help study and manage the Earth's natural resources and ecology. Students learn how to use state-of-the-art instruments to analyze environmental problems while conducting field work in stunning natural habitats surrounding the Klamath Basin.

Marriage and Family Therapy ›

The M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy is offered with a course schedule designed for working adults: evening and weekend classroom courses, online courses, and courses with mixed classroom and online components. Experienced faculty and clinical supervisors help students advance personal, intellectual and professional development through rich course content, structured activities and supervised field experiences.

The department supports all mathematics courses needed by various majors on our campuses. Course work for the Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics is intended to provide a solid foundation of mathematical theory and a broad selection of applied work both in and outside mathematics.

Medical Laboratory Science (formerly titled Clinical Lab Science) prepares graduates for entry into the medical laboratory science profession. This is a joint program between Oregon Tech and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), located in Portland on the Portland-Metro campus.

Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology ›

Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology (previously Nuclear Medicine Technology) utilizes radio-pharmaceuticals to image physiological processes; similar to an X-ray from the inside-out. It is a major that combines chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer technology, and medicine using radioactivity to construct images of organs and studies physiological processes for diagnostic, therapeutic and research purposes. The NMMIT program is one of a few Bachelor of Science degrees in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology in the U.S.

At Oregon Tech, students acquire sound clinical judgment and excellent technical skills, while completing all the lower-division requirements necessary to apply to the Oregon Health and Science University's (OHSU) School of Nursing.

Population Health Management ›

Graduates of the Population Health Management bachelor degree program will be prepared for careers in settings such as medical homes, hospitals, community health centers and schools, as well as non-profit and government organizations. The curriculum offers courses covering the social factors (i.e., gender, socioeconomic status, age) in health and illness, coping with illness, cultural competency, healthcare organizations, and disease prevention.

Oregon Tech’s Applied Psychology program allows students to choose among three specializations: human services, organizational development, and pre-education. The human-services option prepares graduates to work with social service agencies and mandated clients. In organizational development, students learn how businesses change and develop and how best to manage that evolution. In pre-education, students are prepared for graduate studies in education with a focus on elementary or secondary teaching with an emphasis in social sciences.

Radiologic Science is a branch of medicine that deals with the creation of detailed images of the internal structures of the human body for the purpose of diagnosing disease, and to a lesser extent, administering therapeutic treatments.

Respiratory Care ›

Oregon Tech offers a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care at the Klamath Falls campus, as well as an online degree completion program for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT).  Registered respiratory therapists are physician extenders who, under medical direction, administer cardiopulmonary care, evaluate and assess pulmonary patients, and administer medications and diagnostic tests when appropriate.

Vascular Technology ›

The Vascular Technology program at Oregon Tech trains students to use ultrasound and other tests to discover and diagnose diseases of the vascular system — the heart and the blood vessels by which blood is pumped and circulated through the body. Oregon Tech introduced the nation’s first Vascular Technology degree in 1992.
